The Shortbread Chronicles is an international cooking club. We are currently accepting new members, and YOU are invited to join.

How does this cooking club work, and what does Membership mean?

On the first day of each month, we will post a Challenge, a recipe for you to bake that month.

Of course, anyone can read this blog and bake the recipe. But as a member, you are invited to join the conversation ~ send us a brief summary of your Challenge experience along with a photo of your results. We will publish your summary and your photo, giving full attribution to you. If you are a blogger and you have posted this Challenge on your blog, we will also include a link to your blog.

The Goal: Together, all of our contributions will create a very cool shared baking experience. 

How do I join this cooking club?

Send us an email requesting membership. Include a photo of yourself that we can use on this site, as well as a brief description of yourself. Our email address is: shortbreadchronicles@yahoo.com.  By sending us a request for membership, you agree to be listed as a member on our Member Page. 

Can I adjust the Challenge Recipe?

YES! We invite you to experiment and improvise, but make sure your summary includes the changes you've made. (For example, Kathie is on a gluten-free diet, and she will try to adjust many of the Challenge recipes into gluten-free recipes.)

When do I submit my results?

The Challenge Recipe will be posted at the beginning of each month, and submissions are accepted until the 22nd. In other words, you have three weeks to bake & photograph the Challenge recipe and share your results.

Will you edit my Summary?

We reserve the right to edit your Summary for brevity's sake, but we don't want to.


What if I skip a month?

We understand that life happens and you might miss a Challenge. That's fine. But this club will be a lot more fun if we all contribute regularly.

Again, our goal is to create a baking community where ideas and experiences are shared. We hope you join in the fun!
